What if someone just cannot allow themselves to let go of something because it reminds them so profoundly of the person who has died? What if this holding on to the past has become self destructive, even to the point that the items are taking over their home and lives?

Meno Mosso is a visual lament, exploring loss through the sense of an absent presence. The lament expresses a wide range of feelings from melancholy, shock, exhaustion and anger to an overwhelming sense of grief. The focus of this moving image work is on the upright piano that the artist’s father used for composition. An inherited ‘transitional object of grief’, becomes subject, a persistent character both positive and negative.
