 stabat mater is an experimental film work attempting to bring two separate Super-8 films together in an absurd edit along the film’s length. A lament attempting to describe a fractured irreconcilable relationship in the family home. One speaks, the other busy; isolated in their own worlds.

stabat mater is the title of a choral composition by the artist’s father, composer Patric Standford. The samples include a BBC Radio 3 interview with Standford prior to the broadcast of stabat mater in 2010; a work performed and recorded but never released to the public.
