Ons Dagelijksch Brood is the phrase beautifully carved onto an old wooden plate found in a flea market many years ago in Bruges. The concept of ‘our daily bread’ is redolent with religious supplication and thanksgiving. Here, the bread dough disconcertingly breathes a vitality of its own. Its bulk expands and contracts before being vigorously pummelled with curious, whispered incantation. The power dynamic between bread and baker in this domestic ritual remains ambiguous; something carnal accompanies the exertions of kneading.

Selected work on the theme of inner landscapes. Landscapes of mind and body, where the intangible is transformed into visceral, poetic narratives; diverse in form and content, both reflective and responsive, allowing humour and the absurd to interact with melancholy and disquiet; to shimmer briefly in your imagination.
