In the Forest Garden is an ongoing project, initiated in 2015, turning a patch of grass into an edible, biodiverse system of trees, shrubs and perennial plants which together mimic the woodland edge, creating a sustainable type of ecosystem in East Anglia. It has been developed through the practice of quiet activism; an act of protest and resistance against the demands of extraction and extinction associated with perpetual growth and expansion.

In the Forest Garden is a proposition, a resource, a developing concept, a place to imagine and perform. A space full of contradiction, where time confuses and dissipates. A site to interrogate the relationship between nature and culture, wilderness and order, freedom and control, through documentation, performative acts and interventions. Here many different species gather and pass; an active dialogue with living material under the open sky.
